Who is this therapy for?

Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy are suited to individuals who are ready to:

• take personal responsibility for change
• explore patterns of behaviour and thinking
• actively participate in therapy
• implement strategies between sessions

This approach can be particularly helpful for people who have gained insight or self-awareness through traditional therapy or self-development work but struggle to translate that insight into action or lasting change.

Common themes clients work with include:

• burnout and chronic stress
• relationship challenges and unhealthy dynamics
• life transitions and career decisions
• self-esteem and confidence
• people pleasing and codependency
• fear, avoidance, and stagnation
• negative thinking patterns
• financial behaviour patterns
• personal development and identity exploration

What approaches are used at Mellisonant Studio?

Amy’s work integrates several complementary approaches.

Strategic Psychotherapy/

Strategic Psychotherapy is a practical and action-oriented approach that focuses on identifying and interrupting patterns that maintain problems.

Rather than analysing the past in depth, this approach focuses on developing new behaviours, perspectives, and skills that support change moving forward.

Amy incorporates the Gordian framework, which examines underlying cognitive and behavioural processes such as:

• locus of control
• internal narratives
• over-generalisation patterns
• tolerance for ambiguity
• internalisation patterns

By working with these underlying processes, clients can develop new ways of responding to life situations.

Neo-Eriksonian Clinical Hypnotherapy/

Hypnosis acts as a delivery vehicle that amplifies strategic therapeutic interventions.

Neo-Eriksonian Hypnotherapy is highly personalised and unscripted. The practitioner works with the client’s language, metaphors, and experiences to create tailored therapeutic suggestions.

Hypnotherapy can help disrupt entrenched patterns, strengthen new behavioural responses, and support change at a subconscious level.

Deep trance states are not required for therapeutic benefit.

Somatic Practices/

Where appropriate, somatic techniques may be incorporated to support body awareness, emotional regulation, and nervous system integration.

Somatic interventions are used in low-dose applications designed to support the nervous system through change.

Please see below for more information on non-clinical offerings.
